TEACH IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

Teacher Recruitment International (Aust) provides a teacher placement service for primary and secondary schools in London and other areas of England.

Australian and New Zealand teachers are constantly sought to work in either day-to-day supply positions or to undertake short term or long term contracts. Immediate work is available throughout the year

Right to work in the UK

For British and EU passport holders there are no restrictions on entering the UK to work.
Applicants from Commonwealth countries may be eligible for the following two additional options:

Working holiday visa: This allows individuals to work for up to two years in the UK. In order to be eligible for this visa you must also be 30 years of age or less.

  OR
For those with British born parents or grandparents, you may have the right to work in the UK through ancestral rights. Either an Ancestral Visa or Right of Abode (depending on which parent's ancestry you are basing your application; mother or father) may be granted. This would allow you to work in the UK for up to four years.

Alternatively, if you are not eligible for either of the above routes to enter the UK, then we can facilitate a work permit application subject to successful placement.

Applications for permits can be made by British based employers on behalf of the person they wish to employ [school, local authority etc]. A work permit is issued to a specific employee for a specific job, and the employer will have day to day responsibility for the individual.

There may be flexibility on other immigration rules depending on your individual circumstances. In all cases you should seek advice first from your nearest British High Commission or contact TRI direct.

A comprehensive listing of British High Commissions and Consular Generals in your country is available at: www.fco.gov.uk/directory/posts.asp

For further contact information on High Commission Offices and Consular Generals representing additional countries in Britain, consult the web address below. The High Commission may also advise you further in regards to applying for police checks from within the UK: www2.tagish.co.uk/Links/Embassies/Host/A.htm
